Hello, this is Rivkah Perkins the host of Women Wholesaling To Freedom. Welcome back and thank you for being here today. We are talking about the importance of understanding your prospective sellers. It’s important to know how to relate to the sellers even before you meet with them. I know this sounds strange to say that you can know how to relate to a person you haven’t even met yet however, learning about characteristics of the major personality types will allow you to be able to spot these similarities in others which in turn guides you to be able to identify with the seller in a way that they feel most comfortable.

It is often said that people like people who are like them so understanding how a person relates to others will help you to not only understand the other person but to be able to work with them on their level. It brings a certain familiarity that makes the other person feel more comfortable.

It has been said that people like people who are like themselves so not only learning about different personality types and their communication style, but then using that style to identify with a person will develop a special bond that makes them feel more comfortable and trust you more than others who don’t understand how to connect with them.

There are simple ways for you to connect with a prospective seller if you know what to look for. If you know the factors that make up a persons personality and how they communicate with the world it becomes easier then build a closer relationship. As a wholesaler, learning about the personality traits of others allows you to be one step ahead of other wholesalers.

I know that many of you are thinking that learning about personality types is all well and good but you still think that all the seller really cares about is price. I totally understand, but what about the distressed seller who doesn’t know where to turn for help or the seller who is about to lose their property to foreclosure, and has no idea what to do as they will be out of their home in a few short weeks and still have no idea where to turn or who to trust. Bonding quickly with this person could change their life and yours.

As business owners, we understand the process of how we take an idea and then translate it into different areas to form a process that we then turn into something concrete. These processes break down into four key areas of a business model. This is the same for the four different personality types seen most in people. In a business model there is a Dreamer who comes up with an idea and that dreamer also has the characteristics of an Amiable personality in that they develop ideas as a visionary who gives focus to ideas that will work and these individuals like new challenges that they can overcome to develop their concept.

Next, comes the Persuader who has an Expressive personality that will then take the ideas and get itappreciated. In other words, the Expressive personality will strive to connect with people and feel connected on a personal level as they present the idea to others. These individuals are very concerned about others and will want to know how a decision they make will affect others. They are creative, outgoing, spontaneous and rely on their intuition in making decisions.

Next step in a business model is when the idea moves to an Analyst who sets out to take the idea and make it work. An Analyst is referred to have a personality which is aptly called an Analytical. This person is a no nonsense type person who is a critical thinker and will perceive problem solving with a strong drive to get the job done. They love data, facts and figures and are more logical and cautious than any other personality type. Once they make a decision they will stick to it no matter what.

Finally, in the process of the business model is the Controller and in the language of personality types this person is referred to as an Assertive personality type. After the first three steps in the business model the idea will need to be implemented and this is the person to do it. These individuals make sure that processes are completed and implementation happens exactly as they have planned. These individuals are goal-oriented, decisive, and very competitive. They are also referred to as people who go right to the bottom line. They want information fast — so they can make a decision and move on. They also don’t want you to waste their time with facts and building up to a point, just cut to the chase.

As you can see, the four personality types are very different in how they see the world and communicate with the world and others. If you can understand characteristics of each type of person and be able to pick up on their style the moment you make contact with them, you can easily relate to each person on their level which in turn will build trust quicker and help you to get that appointment easier and with less effort.

When we feel we know someone or feel we have some sort of immediate connection to a stranger it allows us to let our guard down just a little and trust that person. When dealing with someone in a distressed situation being able to make a connection quicker will improve your ability to get more deals easier than just looking at price and nothing else.
